Weichert, Realtors Celebrates New Home Dedication with Morris Habitat for Humanity

Weichert, Realtors was honored to join Morris Habitat for Humanity for a New Home Dedication ceremony on Friday, December 11, during which two families were welcomed to a safe and affordable place to live in Morristown, N.J., for the New Year. The brand-new home was sponsored by Weichert and constructed with the help of 2,700 volunteers.

Located on Hazel Street, this pre-existing home was originally donated to be renovated into two separate units. The venture broke ground in October 2013 and generated countless donations of time, materials and care by volunteers throughout Morris County, including the future homeowners themselves. To complete this community project, Morris Habitat for Humanity used yellow siding for the home to represent Weichert, Realtors’ signature color.

Regional Vice President Joseph McDonald attended the ceremony and welcomed the two grateful families to their new home. “At Weichert, we get to see first-hand the important role a home plays in someone’s life,” he said. “In addition to the financial support that homeownership provides, the personal and emotional benefits that accompany it are what make this experience important to our company. We are grateful for the opportunity we were given to participate in this unforgettable project.”
