The Weichert Family of Companies Promotes John F. Lanahan to Deputy General Counsel

The Weichert Family of Companies today announced that John F. Lanahan has been promoted to deputy general counsel. In his new role, Lanahan will serve on the company’s Financial Services Segment Senior Leadership Team as the legal and compliance subject matter expert. The businesses that Lanahan now supports include: Weichert Financial Services, Weichert Insurance Agency and Weichert’s title entities, Weichert National Title and Democracy Title.

A 12-year veteran of Weichert, Lanahan has played a leadership role across a broad spectrum of legal activities including acquisitions, corporate structuring, negotiation of credit facilities and litigation management. As deputy general counsel, Lanahan’s responsibilities will focus primarily on compliance, legal, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance activities.

A resident of Hillsborough, N.J., Lanahan graduated from The University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and from Vermont Law School with a Juris Doctor degree. A past president of the Alumni Society of The University of Scranton, Lanahan currently serves as vice chair of the parish finance committee of St. Joseph Parish in Hillsborough, and is the Catholic Youth Ministry (CYM) program coordinator for its youth basketball program.
