Weichert, Realtors Donates $140,000 to American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research

Weichert, Realtors successfully raised $140,000 in donations for the American Cancer Society (ACS) to fund breast cancer research during its 15th Annual Charity Golf Outing. Proceeds from the event bring the grand total that Weichert has raised for the ACS to more than $870,000 since the annual fundraiser began in 2001.

“This year’s golf outing was our most successful yet, and I was pleased to see the event rise to a whole new level,” said Jacelyn Botti, head of residential sales for Weichert, Realtors. “The response from golfers wishing to participate was overwhelming, and our sales offices in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia all supported the cause by holding silent auctions to raise additional funds toward our effort.”

Held annually at the picturesque Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster, N.J., this year 232 golfers and spa treatment participants enjoyed a buffet luncheon, three-hour cocktail reception/buffet, prizes and awards. TV and radio personality Bill Spadea was the emcee for the evening event, which also included a silent auction and the presentation of the Larry Mueller Memorial Award to Tim McLaughlin, chief operating officer and EVP of capital markets for Weichert Financial Services.

Additionally, in the spirit of the occasion, special guest speaker and breast cancer survivor, Theresa Alfano, from the Allentown, Pa., office of Weichert, Realtors, shared her story of survival with the numerous attendees and encouraged them to make generous contributions toward the cause so that others like her may successfully finish their fight with cancer.

Almost 80 organizations supported the fundraiser through various forms of sponsorship. Top sponsors included, Radian Guaranty, Executive Movers Service and UNIRISC.
