Weichert, Realtors® Wins Two National Awards for Its Online Real Estate Training

4/17/2007

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ – Weichert, Realtors® announced that it was the recipient of two national awards for excellence in its online real estate training courses.  This marks the second year in a row that Weichert, Realtors was recognized.

The awards were presented by Learn.com®, the leader in on-demand workforce development and productivity, during its Empowerment Awards Gala at the Second Annual Learn.com Users Conference held recently in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.   Learn.com provides the platform that enables Weichert to deliver online courses, or eLearning, to its sales associates, managers, and employees via Weichert’s internal Web site called LearnCenter®.

Weichert was honored with Empowerment Awards in two key categories:

§          For “Best Course Design Using CourseMaker® Studio,” Weichert took first place based upon the overall quality of its custom online courses.

§          For “Highest Course Completion Rates,” the company won second-place honors based on the nearly 46,000 online courses completed by Weichert sales associates and employees in 2006 to improve their skills and performance.  Weichert sales associates typically complete multiple courses.

Weichert, Realtors also has the distinguished honor of being the only Learn.com client to garner a total of three awards in just two years.  At last year’s conference, Weichert was awarded first place for course completion rates.

Mary Banen, vice president of training and development at Weichert, Realtors, said,  “With its on-demand accessibility, eLearning enables busy sales associates to continually upgrade their skills and stay atop the complexities of the real estate transaction.  It’s a critical component of the ongoing training initiatives we consider fundamental to our commitment to providing the best possible service to home buyers and sellers.”

Weichert’s eLearning opportunities include 37 real-estate specific courses designed and developed in-house as well as more than 160 technology courses.  Among the online courses reviewed by the judges were “Conducting An Effective Open House,” “Working with the Internet Customer,” and “The Art of Negotiation,” which schools Weichert sales associates in how to act as effective mediators in bringing parties to mutual agreement.

Hand in hand with online learning, the company’s training arm, Weichert University, offers live training for new and experienced sales associates at the Weichert campus headquarters and in regional facilities.  New sales associates receive intensive FastTrack training and ongoing mentoring by an experienced sales associate to train them in Weichert’s service philosophy, offer guidance, and help them get off to a successful start.    For experienced associates, Weichert offers online programs and resources, as well as a live one-day program called Success Track that provides an orientation of the Weichert difference and the tools and programs available to help grow their business.
