Weichert Relocation Resources Employees Volunteer to Make a Difference in Their Communities

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. – Volunteering their skills and services, Weichert Relocation Resources Inc. employees across North America recently took part in the company’s CommunityCare Day, lending support to homeless shelters, food banks and other worthwhile causes within their communities.
Held twice a year, CommunityCare Day is a company-wide day of volunteering; part of Weichert Relocation Resources’ long-standing commitment to giving back to the communities where its employees live and work.
“CommunityCare Day has become the heart of Weichert Relocation Resources’ corporate giving program,” said Aram Minnetian, president of Weichert Relocation Resources. “Our employees’ passion for making a difference in the lives of others – whether it’s a family being relocated across the country or a family in need within their own communities – is a tremendous source of pride for our company.”
In Morris Plains, N.J., employees joined Habitat for Humanity in kicking off construction of a three-bedroom family home. Volunteers donated wood and spent the afternoon working to frame and raise walls.
Employees in Houston also joined forces with their local Habitat for Humanity chapter, assisting in the construction of a home in East Houston.
In Denver, employees spent the day at the Jeffco Action Center, a shelter for underprivileged families, assembling shelving, sorting food donations and stocking shelves.
In Boston, employees volunteered at the Plymouth County Animal Shelter, raking leaves, walking and grooming animals, and assisting with the Shelter’s Pet Adoption Day event.
Employees from the Chicago office worked at the Northern Illinois Food Bank, sorting, weighing and packaging food for distribution to local food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters.
In Wilton, Conn., employees spearheaded a beautification effort at the Norwalk Emergency Shelter, an organization providing housing, care and assistance to local families in need.
North of the border, employees in Calgary shared the spirit of giving, volunteering at the Mustard Seed Street Ministry, where they prepared and served breakfast for more than 600 homeless people.
In Toronto, employees proudly donated their time, as well as much-needed food and personal care items, to the Halton Women’s Shelter, a local organization assisting women and children escaping from domestic violence. Through an office charitable fund, the Toronto team also raised over $700 to provide holiday season assistance to local families in need.
