Weichert, Realtors® Hosts More Than 100,000 Open Houses So Far This Year

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. – Weichert, Realtors® announced it has held more open houses this year from January 1 through May 31 than ever before.

The company said it hosted 102,641 open houses in the first five months of the year, up 28% from the same period last year and a new company record.   

James M. Weichert, president, said, “The Weichert Open House Program continues to prove a powerful means for exposing our sellers’ homes to potential buyers.” Describing the market as “normalizing,” Weichert said the more equitable balance between the available inventory of homes for sale and the number of buyers shopping the market makes now an ideal time to buy. He said, “There’s a good selection of homes and they can still be purchased at historically low interest rates.” 

Open houses are popular with buyers as a convenient way to view a home for sale. A National Association of REALTORS® survey found that 73% of all home buyers visit at least one open house as part of their home search.
