Weichert Sales Associate Wins Top State Good Neighbor Award From New Jersey Association of Realtors

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. — Patricia (Pat) Malpere, a sales associate in Weichert, Realtors®’ Mountain Lakes Office, recently won first place in the 2005 New Jersey Association of Realtors (NJAR) Good Neighbor Award recognition.

                In 1998, Malpere took the initiative to create the Extended Family Corporation to help a friend who was diagnosed with leukemia and who did not have medical insurance to cover a bone marrow transplant.  Through an annual 5K Walk to Remember, the Extended Family Corporation has consistently raised funds to assist one family per year.  Malpere served as president of the organization until May 2005 and continues to work with the group as a volunteer.  Under Malpere’s leadership, the Extended Family raised more than $200,000 and helped eight families. 

                The NJAR will make a $2,500 donation to the Extended Family Corporation on behalf of Malpere.
