Weichert Relocation Resources Employees Volunteer for a Day of Community Service

11/15/2005

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. – Volunteering their time and talents, employees of Weichert Relocation Resources Inc. helped make the company’s recent CommunityCare Day its most successful to date. Through this biannual event, employees from Weichert Relocation Resources’ offices across North America give back to the communities where they work and live, supporting local causes and charities through volunteer work.

"CommunityCare Day is just one of the ways that we demonstrate the breadth and depth of our company-wide commitment to building brighter futures,” said Aram Minnetian, President of Weichert Relocation Resources. “Our colleagues’ enthusiasm for making a difference in the lives of others – whether it’s a family being relocated across the country or a local family in need – is a tremendous source of pride for our company.”

Employees from the company’s headquarters in Morris Plains, New Jersey, volunteered at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, where they helped sort and package food for distribution to hungry families across the state.

Employees from the Chicago office worked at the local Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services station assembling care packages for families displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

In Wilton, CT, employees also rallied behind local Katrina relief efforts, sorting and packaging everything from baby clothing to food and toys for affected families.

Employees from the Denver office spent the day at the Jeffco Action Center, a local shelter and food pantry, helping to sort, stock and package goods as part of the organization’s annual “garage sale” fundraiser.

Employees from the Boston office volunteered at the Greater Boston Food Bank, sorting over 2,000 pounds of food, equaling more than 150 meals for the less fortunate.

Employees from the Houston office participated in the Southwest Area Ministry’s monthly donation sorting, helping to prepare clothing, bed linens, shoes and toys for resale, and shipping other items for storage.

In Toronto, employees prepared home-cooked meals and donated packaged foods for the residents of Halton Women’s Place, a shelter for abused women and their children.

Employees from the Calgary office collected food for the Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank, a crisis facility that feeds and supports locals in times of financial trouble.

CommunityCare Day is held twice a year as part of

Weichert Relocation Resources’ ongoing CommunityCare program. Through this program, Weichert Relocation Resources’ employees volunteer to support projects closely aligned with two of the company’s most prominent corporate objectives: helping families and improving communities.
